Terms and conditions

1. Acceptance of these terms

1. By using this website, opening an account or buying a raffle ticket, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
2. These terms apply together with the Rules of Play, the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy. Where these terms and the Rules of Play differ on a matter concerning the conduct of the raffle, the Rules of Play govern, because they are the document approved by the licensing authority.
3. Nothing in these terms removes or limits a right you have under Ontario or Canadian consumer protection law.
4. These terms are written in plain English on purpose. If a clause is unclear, telephone the branch on 613-652-4516 and somebody will explain it rather than send you back to the page.

2. Who we are

1. This website is operated by Royal Canadian Legion Branch 370 of 24 Dundas Street, Iroquois, Ontario K0E 1K0, Canada — referred to below as "the branch", "we" or "us".
2. The branch is licensed and regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and conducts its 50/50 electronic raffle under Lottery Licence No. RAF1534821, issued July 25, 2026 and valid August 1, 2026 – August 31, 2027.

3. Eligibility: 18+ and in Ontario

1. You must be 18 years of age or older to open an account or buy a ticket.
2. You must be physically located in Ontario at the moment you buy. Residency is not the test; physical presence is. A visitor standing in Ontario may buy; an Ontario resident standing outside the province may not.
3. Age and location are verified at checkout. The age prompt on this website is a notice, not a verification, and passing it does not make you eligible.
4. Members of the branch executive, branch staff and volunteers involved in the conduct and management of the raffle, employees of the AGCO, and members of the same household as any of them, may not buy tickets. See Rules of Play, clause 3.4.
5. We may refuse or void a sale, and refund it in full, where these conditions are not met.

4. Your account

1. An account is optional. You can buy a ticket without one; an account simply keeps your ticket history and contact details in one place.
2. You must give accurate details when you register, and keep them up to date. We may suspend an account that carries details we cannot verify when a prize is claimed.
3. One account per person. Accounts are personal to you and may not be shared, sold or transferred.
4. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity carried out under your sign-in. Tell us immediately at info@legionbranch370.ca if you believe someone else has used it.
5. You may close your account at any time by telling us. Closing an account does not cancel tickets already bought, and does not delete records we are required by the licence to keep — see the Privacy Policy.
6. We may suspend or close an account where these terms are breached, where a sale would be unlawful, or at the direction of the Registrar.

5. Buying tickets

1. Tickets are issued through an electronic raffle system registered with the AGCO. That system, not the branch, generates ticket numbers and selects the winning number.
2. A ticket is an entry into one draw. It has no value in itself, is not a security, and confers no interest in the branch or its property.
3. Your purchase is complete only when the raffle system records it. A transaction that has not completed by the published cut-off does not enter that draw, whatever caused the delay.
4. You must accept the Rules of Play before a sale completes. The version in force at the moment of purchase governs that purchase.
5. A raffle ticket is not a donation. It is not eligible for a charitable tax receipt, because the Canada Revenue Agency does not treat a lottery ticket as a gift.
6. Buying a ticket does not donate to the Poppy Fund, and a Poppy Fund donation is not an entry. The two are kept apart in our accounts and on this website — see Remembrance & the Poppy Fund.
7. Tickets are personal to the purchaser and may not be resold, transferred or given as security.

6. Prices, payment and confirmation

1. Prices are in Canadian dollars, are the prices published in the approved Rules of Play, and carry no service or processing fee from the branch.
2. The card payment step is handled by our payment provider under its PCI DSS obligations. The branch never sees or stores your card number.
3. On completion you receive an email confirmation showing your ticket numbers, the draw they are entered in and the amount paid. Keep it: it is what you present when claiming.
4. If payment succeeds but no confirmation arrives, telephone the branch before the cut-off. Tickets recorded by the system are entered whether or not the email reached you.
5. A payment that is reversed, charged back or otherwise not honoured voids the tickets it paid for, including retrospectively.
6. Where a technical or display error results in a ticket being issued on terms not authorised by the Rules of Play, that ticket is void and refunded. A published error does not create an entitlement to the figure published.

7. Prizes and claims

1. The prize is 50% of the total value of tickets sold in that draw. Because it is a share of sales, the amount is not known until sales close, and any figure published beforehand is an estimate and labelled as one.
2. No minimum or guaranteed jackpot is offered.
3. The winner is contacted using the details given at purchase, and the result is published on the Winners page.
4. To claim, you must produce the winning ticket confirmation and government-issued photo identification showing that you are 18 or older and are the recorded purchaser.
5. Prizes must be claimed within six months of the draw. Unclaimed prizes are dealt with as the Registrar directs — see Rules of Play, clause 14.
6. We will never telephone, email or message you to ask for a payment, a fee or a banking password in order to release a prize. Any such request is fraud and is not from us.

8. Refunds and cancellation

1. Tickets are not refundable once issued, except where a ticket is voided by the branch or by the raffle system — for example failed payment, an ineligible purchaser, or duplicate issue — in which case the full purchase price is refunded to the original payment method.
2. If a draw is cancelled, every ticket purchase for that draw is refunded in full, and the cancellation is announced on this website and directly to purchasers.
3. Refunds are made to the original payment method only. We do not pay refunds in cash.

9. Acceptable use of this website

1. Use this site lawfully and for its intended purpose. Do not use it in any way that breaks Ontario or Canadian law, or the terms of our lottery licence.
2. Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, any account, or any system connected to it; do not probe, scan or test its security without our written permission.
3. Do not introduce malware, run a denial-of-service attack, or otherwise interfere with the operation of the site.
4. Do not scrape, harvest or systematically extract content from the site for republication or for building a mailing list.
5. Do not misrepresent your age or your location, use another person's payment method without authority, or buy a ticket on behalf of a person who is not eligible.
6. Do not use the site to harass branch volunteers or other supporters, or to post unlawful, defamatory or discriminatory material where the site accepts input.
7. We may withdraw access, void tickets and report the matter to the AGCO or the police where this clause is breached.

10. Intellectual property

1. The text, layout, code, graphics and images on this site belong to the branch or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright.
2. You may read, print and share pages of this site for personal, non-commercial use, and you may link to any page. You may not republish our content commercially, or present it as your own, without written permission.
3. "The Royal Canadian Legion", the Legion badge and the poppy are protected marks. They may not be reproduced without the written permission of Dominion Command, and nothing on this site grants you any right to use them.
4. The AGCO name and logo are the property of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, reproduced on this site solely to identify our regulator.

11. Links to other websites

1. We link to other sites — the AGCO, ConnexOntario, Legion national and Ontario Command, and support services — because they are useful. We do not control them and we are not responsible for their content, their privacy practices or their availability.
2. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the site linked to.

12. Availability of the website

1. We aim to keep the site available, but it is run by a small branch with volunteers. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we may suspend, withdraw or change any part of it without notice.
2. If the raffle system becomes unavailable during a sales period, the branch may extend the sales period or cancel the draw, subject to the Registrar's direction — see Rules of Play, clause 11.

13. Disclaimers

1. Information on this site is published in good faith and for general information. Figures such as estimated jackpots, populations and draw dates are stated as accurately as we can and may change.
2. Nothing on this site is legal, tax or financial advice. Lottery winnings are generally not taxable as income in Canada, but we do not advise on your circumstances — ask your own adviser.
3. Where the licence, the Rules of Play or the Registrar's direction differ from a description on this website, the licence, the rules and the direction prevail.

14. Limitation of liability

1. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
2. Subject to clause 14.1, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of expected winnings, or loss arising from your inability to access the site.
3. Subject to clause 14.1, our total liability to you in connection with a ticket is limited to the amount you paid for that ticket, together with any prize properly due to you under the Rules of Play.
4. We are not liable for a failure caused by an event outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, power or network failure, or the act of a third-party provider.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify the branch, its executive members and its volunteers against any claim, loss or reasonable cost arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of this website, or a purchase made using your account or payment method without proper authority.

16. Privacy and cookies

1. How we handle personal information is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
2. What is stored in your browser, and how to change your mind, is set out in the Cookie Policy. Analytics load only after you accept them.
3. Marketing email is sent only with your express consent, and every message carries an unsubscribe link that works.

17. Responsible gambling

1. A raffle ticket is entertainment. Decide what you are willing to spend before you buy, and treat it as you would the cost of a night out.
2. You may ask the branch to stop selling to you. Tell any executive member, in person or by telephone; we will honour it without discussion and without telling anyone why.

18. Complaints and disputes

1. Raise a concern first with the branch: email info@legionbranch370.ca, telephone 613-652-4516, or use the contact page. Give the draw date, your ticket numbers and what went wrong.
2. We acknowledge a written complaint within five business days and aim to answer it substantively within thirty days.
3. A complaint about the conduct of a licensed lottery scheme that we cannot resolve may be taken to the AGCO. A complaint about personal information may be taken to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

19. Changes to these terms

1. We may update these terms. The version in force at the time of your purchase governs that purchase, and each version carries a version number and an effective date.
2. Material changes are published on this page. Where a change affects tickets already bought, we will contact purchasers directly rather than rely on this page alone.
3. The Rules of Play may not be amended without the Registrar's approval, requested at least two weeks in advance.

20. Governing law and general

1. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction.
2. If any clause is found unenforceable, the remaining clauses continue in force.
3. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.
4. These terms, the Rules of Play, the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy are the whole agreement between us about your use of this website and your ticket purchases.
